Google buys Deepmind

Google would end up buying Deepmind an amount exceeding $ 400 million. This is a London based company dedicated to the development of artificial intelligence projects. Among its founders highlights Demis Hassabis, recognized as a chess prodigy, according to his biography.

The team will work in Mountain View under the leadership of Ray Kurzweil, engineering manager focused on machine learning. Kurzweil said on occasion his intention to create a search engine that is capable of acting as a “cyber friend”.

Google is not the only one interested in artificial intelligence. IBM Watson to acquire or own with Yahoo! LookFlow have also shown interest in it. It should be noted that according to some resources ,Facebook would also have been pushing to seize Deepmind.
