The first Android smartphone branded with Nokia name has just been revealed. Manufacturer HMD Global is learned to have housed it with 4GB RAM, 64GB on-board storage, microSD support and a 16-megapixel rear camera.
Named as Nokia 6, the smartphone is fueled by a 3,000 mAh battery for longer talktime and surfing duration.
The device is monoblock form and seems to have sculpted from a single piece of aluminium. It carries modern design ethics equipped with a 1920×1080 HD screen measuring 5.5 inches diagonaly.
The new Nokia phone is learned to be shipped with Nougat, which is seventh major version of Android. It will tap wide range of third-party Android apps which were earlier limited to the Nokia Lumia range of Windows Phone-powered handsets.
The Nokia 6 will initially be launched in China as the market is still in growing phase unlike that of Europe and North America.
It is said rebranding will be easier in China compared to other markets across the world. Also, Nokia once ruled the Chinese market and the supply lines are relatively short from the production facilities.
The phone is strategically made for the mid-range market. It will be shipped with a SnapDragon 430 system-on-chip.
It is learned the device is priced tagged around $245 in China.
The Nokia 6 will be made available exclusively through retailer JD.com in China.
