The popular instant messaging application WhatsApp has a major security breach that would allow any hacker to download and read the discussions by users of this service. This has been proven by the security expert Bas Bosschert , who has published on his personal website the necessary steps to do so.
The resources explained that Whatsapp conversations saved on a microSD card, so if the user has allowed other applications to store data in the memory card. Hackers can access the conversations that the user has kept in Whatsapp via using any other Android app with access to the microSD card . The security flaw does not affect only Whatsapp, but also any other application that uses Android microSD card for storage.
Interestingly, Whatsapp has released a new update to its Android application in which emphasis was made on improving the privacy.
