The social network Twitter was the target of a cyber attack that could have affected some 250,000 users, said the security director of the company, Bob Lord, in his blog.
The hackers caught, among others, the names of the users and their e-mail. Twitter discovered this week the first signs of a cyber attack, which was later confirmed.
The social network said that changed the passwords. Those affected by the attack can not access your accounts and are urged by e-mail to change their passwords. “This attack was not the work of amateurs,” said Lord and said that this is not an isolated incident.
This week the newspapers “The New York Times” and “The Wall Street Journal” announced that they were subject to cyber attacks, allegedly perpetrated by Chinese hackers.
