With rising popularity and helped by their latest updates, SkyDrive is becoming an increasingly viable alternative against competitors like Dropbox, Google Drive, Box and SugarSync .
Microsoft also been concerned that SkyDrive is the default service for saving data from Office users . It has also continued to improve application performance and faster loading of files.
One of the most important milestones in the six year life of SkyDrive, born in 2007, was the application for Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Mac , released in August 2012.
