The strategy of launching the new BlackBerry Z10 gains in aggressiveness. BlackBerry CEO, Thorsten Heins, has bitterly criticized the rival Apple products , specifically the current iPhone and iOS.
Speaking to the ‘Australian Financial Review’ , first Heins praised Apple for creating an innovative product six years ago: “Apple has done a fantastic job bringing to market touch devices. (…) They did a fantastic job with the user interface, and they are a design icon. There’s a reason we were so successful, and we have to recognize and respect that.
But then came the blow to the current iPhone situation: “The pace of innovation is so high in our industry that if you do not innovate, at that speed can be replaced fairly quickly. The user interface of the iPhone , with all due respect so this invention is, interface is now five years ago . “
Then Heins said multitasking as an area where the BlackBerry Z10 stands , while the iPhone shows its shortcomings. The new platform for BlackBerry smartphones, BlackBerry 10, has several characteristics that contrast sharply with the iPhone, as the hub that brings together all e-mail and messaging, and the lack of a home button.
Heins also said that BlackBerry 10 has 70,000 applications “native”, although many of these are adaptations to BB10 versions of Android. The CEO of the Canadian company said BlackBerry 10 qe 100,000 applications available in time for the launch of the Z10 in the U.S., later this week.
